Delivery Options on TrainGenius.com

Self Service ticket machines

You can collect your tickets for free at any National rail station which has a self service ticket machine. Although the website asks you to select a station of your choice to pick the tickets up from, you can collect your tickets from any station that has a self service ticket machine.

You only need to allow 15 minutes after booking online for the tickets to be available for collection from a self-service ticket machine. However, during peak hours, the stations will be busier so please allow sufficient time to collect your tickets before your journey.

Things to remember when collecting your tickets:

  • You must have the payment card you used to pay for your tickets to collect them from the self-service ticket machine. If you have had your card stolen, lost or replaced since you made a booking with TrainGenius.com please contact us before travel.
  • You will need your 8-digit alphanumeric collection reference to collect your tickets (e.g. C1KNQ2N5). This can be found on your confirmation page and email.
  • Make sure you have all your tickets out of the machine before travelling. Check all coupons have printed including any reservations if applicable and a receipt coupon. If you haven’t received all your tickets from the machine or are having problems with the machine, please seek advice from a member of staff at the station as soon as possible.

Postal

TrainGenius.com provide two different postal options if you would prefer to have your tickets posted:

First class post

If you would like to receive your tickets in the post, you can do so by selecting First Class post when you reach the fulfilment page of the TrainGenius booking process.

We use Royal Mail First Class Post at a cost of £1.70 to get your tickets to you within 5 working days of your order being received. If we receive your order by 2pm on a weekday, we will send your tickets the same day. If after 2pm they will be sent the following working day.

If your travel date does not allow 5 clear working days from your date of booking, we will offer you the option of Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service is a next day delivery service and you can read more below.

If your order is for a total value of more than £250 we require that our customers use Royal Mail Special delivery to receive tickets. Special Delivery offers a higher insurance level than First Class post.

Traingenius will only post orders to the UK (including the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). We do not currently offer postal options to addresses outside this area. If you will be travelling from abroad, you can collect from any of the National Rail stations which appear in our list of stations on the fulfilment page of the booking process.

Special Delivery

Royal Mail Special Delivery will be offered on all orders where there are two or more working days before your travel date. If you order before 2pm on a weekday we will send your order that same day, for arrival the next day before 1pm*.

Royal Mail Special Delivery is charged at £8.50 and is a signed for service, as such you will need to ensure there is someone at the chosen address to receive your tickets.

*The Royal Mail Special DeliveryTM Next Day service will deliver before 5.30 p.m. for some Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth, Paisley, Kilmarnock, Kirkwall, Hebrides, Shetlands and Guernsey postcodes. For a very small number of islands, delivery may take longer. Please see the Royal Mail Special Delivery ™ Next Day website for full details.
